Love your home, but wondering what your backyard could be worth?
You may have received one of our invitations because we noticed something about your property worth exploring. We are not saying it qualifies, not yet. But we have seen enough initial potential to want to take a closer look.
We look at a small number of Christchurch properties street by street. We consider the position of the existing home, access, site shape and the land around it.
A first look does not confirm an opportunity. It simply tells us whether there may be enough potential to investigate properly. Not every property we contact will turn out to be suitable, and we will always tell you honestly either way.
People do not explore their property because they want a subdivision process.
They explore it because of what the outcome might make possible.
Reduce your mortgage

Stay in the neighbourhood you love
Unlock value without leaving the street you know and love.
Help children or grandchildren
Create an opportunity to support family when it matters most.
Create greater freedom in retirement

Renovate, travel or prepare for your next chapter
Turn potential into the lifestyle you've been picturing.
Understand your options
Know what might be possible before you make any decisions.
Every homeowner's reason is different. Our first job is to understand what matters to you.
With your permission
We review the initial opportunity and identify what needs to be checked.
Appropriate initial input
This may include planning, access, title and servicing considerations, drawing on professional input where needed.
You remain in control
If it does not stack up, we will tell you. If it does, we will explain what we found and what the possible next steps may be.
Investigate before promising.
Explain before recommending.
The decision remains yours.
We will not pressure you. We will not promise an outcome before it has been properly investigated. If we do not know an answer, we will say so. If the property is not suitable, we will tell you.
Property Unlock combines practical residential construction and project-management experience with independent professional input where required. We investigate first, explain clearly and never promise an outcome before the work supports it.
Are you trying to buy my house?
Not necessarily. Our first purpose is to help you understand whether your property may have an opportunity worth exploring. Selling the whole property may be an option for some homeowners, but it is not assumed.
Does contacting you commit me to anything?
No. Getting in touch only gives us permission to take an initial look. It does not commit you to subdividing, selling or signing anything.
Does the initial evaluation confirm subdivision is possible?
No. It gives an early indication of whether the idea is worth investigating further. Every property still requires individual title, planning, servicing and feasibility checks before anything is confirmed.
What happens if my property does qualify?
We come back and walk you through exactly what we found, in plain language. That includes the realistic options, what the process would involve, and what the next steps would look like if you wanted to go further. Nothing moves forward without your say so, and you are never obligated to proceed.
Will the initial evaluation cost me anything?
No. The initial evaluation is free, with no cost and no commitment.
Will it cost me anything if my property does qualify?
We work with a trusted network of surveyors, architects and other professionals to help assess and progress genuine opportunities. If your property does qualify, we will explain exactly how the process and any costs work before you commit to anything. You will never be asked to pay for something you do not understand.
What happens if my property is not suitable?
We will tell you honestly. There is no pressure to proceed, and we would rather give you a clear answer than a false hope.
Give us permission to take a closer look.
That is all this is, permission to investigate, not permission to subdivide, sell land or sign anything.
Got it. Thank you.
We will review your details and come back to you directly. If it stacks up, we will suggest a time to talk further. If it does not, we will tell you that honestly too.
